The 17-year-old became famous after he splatted an egg on Queensland senator Fraser Anning during a television interview, prompting a scuffle in which the youngster was twice punched and then restrained.
Police said the boy was arrested, but was released without charge pending a further investigation.
Fraser Anning had been widely criticized after putting the blame on Muslim immigrants for a terror attack on two New Zealand mosques which left 50 people dead.
At another encounter at the airport, Anning was confronted by more people filming on their cameras. “Don’t you have any remorse for the families?” one angry man asked the senator. “You’re a senator of Australia. Look how you act,” he added.
