Rostami lifted 167kg in snatch and 206kg in clean and jerk. He won a gold medal for a total of 373kg in the 89kg weight class.
The silver medal went to Kazakhstan’s Nurgissa Adiletuly with 372kg and Uzbekistan’s Sarvarbek Zafarjonov claimed a bronze medal with 368kg.
The rescheduled 2020 Asian Weightlifting Championships (AWC) are taking place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from April 16-25, 2021.
