In a meeting in Damascus, the Syrian premier and the Iranian envoy weighed plans to carry out the agreements between the two states and complete the joint projects.

They also stressed the need to boost cooperation in various fields relating to the energy industry, investment, trade, transportation, communication, agriculture, and pharmaceutical sector.

Lauding the Iranian establishment and people for standing with Syria in the war against terrorism, Arnous said the implementation of joint projects will create more jobs and result in the economic development in Syria.

For his part, the ambassador gave an assurance that Iran will keep supporting the Syrian people in countering the unfair foreign sanctions and during the reconstruction era.

In a meeting with members of Iran-Syria Parliamentary Friendship Group, held in Damascus in July, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad said his country has been rid of crisis and is ready to promote economic and trade cooperation with friendly nations, including Iran, in the reconstruction era.

In comments in February, the chairman of Syria-Iran Chamber of Commerce said Iranian companies have priority over others for carrying out projects in the reconstruction process of Syria after years of war.
