"Our future plan is to proudly raise the Iranian flag in the South Pole and undertake collaborative military and scientific efforts in that region," Rear Admiral Irani said during a television program commemorating the Sacred Defense Week, which marks the start of the imposed war against Iran in 1980.
"This indicates the potential that can exist within this force," he added, emphasizing the significance of the Navy as a strategic force, citing the guidance from Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
"In 1401 (2022), we strived to establish a robust maritime presence, albeit facing various challenges along the way," he continued, highlighting the persistent attempts of foreign countries to hinder Iran's maritime presence.
"Within the Army's Navy, we removed these obstacles and fears, achieving the significant honor of deploying the 86th Naval Group in international waters, despite foreign conspiracies," the Iranian naval commander stated.
Rear Admiral Irani emphasized that despite numerous attempts from foreign nations to obstruct the mission of this naval group, they were able to successfully neutralize all enemy plots by using equipment made in Iran and persistent efforts within the Navy.
"We proudly raised the sacred flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran everywhere," he added.
Looking ahead to the future plans of the Army's Navy, particularly focusing on the South Pole, he said, "Our future plan is to raise the prestigious Iranian flag in the South Pole and carry out joint military and scientific missions in that region."
