The Israeli forces have carried out strikes on three schools in Gaza City, killing at least 33 people – 18 of them children.
The schools were being used as shelters by hundreds of displaced Palestinian families, Al Jazeera reported.
The deadly overnight attacks on Gaza included a strike on a home southeast of Khan Younis which has killed at least 10 people.
The Israeli fighter jets have also bombed and destroyed a water desalination plant east of Gaza City in the north, in the latest attack on critical infrastructure in the besieged enclave.
The Israeli military also shot and killed two Palestinians in separate overnight raids in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin and the village of Husan, west of Bethlehem.
Elsewhere in Lebanon, the Israeli attacks continued overnight, with three people killed after a drone bombed an apartment in the Lebanese port city of Sidon.
As the Israeli regime orders more forced expulsions from southern neighborhoods of Gaza City, the UN estimated that some 280,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced since Israel broke the ceasefire in Gaza on March 18.
Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 50,523 Palestinians are confirmed dead and 114,638 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 2023. The Government Media Office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of people missing under the rubble are presumed dead.
