Iran U-23 Team Unfortunate Not to Score against Korea: Ravankhah

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran coach Omid Ravankhah said it was unfortunate his players could not find the back of the net despite playing well in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026 Group C opener.

The match between Iran and South Korea ended in a goalless stalemate.

“We faced a very strong team and I believe that overall, our players performed very, very well,” he said. “But it would have been better if there had been a goal.

“We dominated the game, had a bigger share of possession, made successful passes and created more scoring chances and we can deliver at a greater capacity if we work on our weaknesses.”

Iran will face the 2018 champion Uzbekistan on Saturday.
