In comments at a weekly press conference on Monday, Esmaeil Baqaei said the summoning of ambassadors represents only a minimal response, noting that over the past two days, all European countries with embassies in Tehran were called in.
He added that a range of options has been prepared and submitted to relevant institutions for decision-making, with final measures expected to be announced in the coming days.
Baqaei described the EU’s designation of the blacklisting of the IRGC as an insult to Iran and a strategic mistake.
The spokesman said the European Union appears to have ignored the role the IRGC has played in combating Daesh (ISIL or ISIL) terrorism, and warned that if Brussels believes the move will please the United States or the Israeli regime, it is seriously mistaken.
