“I am certain that…, the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the main pillar of the resistance, is fully prepared to stand against any foreign threat and enemy, especially the criminal America and its evil appendage, the Zionist regime, without any intention of attacking others,” Velayati wrote in a letter to Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem.
“Victory will definitely belong to the resistance front, God willing,” he added.
The remarks come amid ongoing tensions, as the region is again bracing for possible confrontation after the United States deployed air and naval forces there and threatened potential action against the Islamic Republic.
Iranian officials have warned that any US attack would trigger an immediate response and could escalate into a wider regional war.
Elsewhere in his letter to the Hezbollah chief, Velayati, who is also the secretary general of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening, highlighted Iran’s support for the resistance under the leadership of Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
He said the Islamic Republic of Iran has stood alongside the oppressed nations of Lebanon, Palestine and Yemen.
In addition, many non-Muslim countries, including Venezuela and some countries in Latin America, Africa and East Asia, and even a number of European freedom-seekers, have placed their hope and reliance on the Islamic Republic in the fight against arrogance, he went on to say.
