In a post on his X account, Araqchi expressed strong condemnation of US military actions in the region, specifically addressing the use of neighboring territories for the deployment of HIMARS missile systems.
“Thank you CENTCOM for admitting that you are using our neighbors' territory to deploy HIMARS systems against our people, apparently including a desalination plant,” he said.
“Nobody should complain if our powerful missiles destroy these systems wherever they are in retribution,” Araqchi warned.
His comments came after the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced in a post on its X account on March 9 that US Army High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) “provide unrivaled deep-strike capability in combat” against Iran.
The US and the Zionist regime launched a large-scale military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.
The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.
In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
