According to Israeli newspaper Maariv, Russia formally protested to Israel over the aerial attack near the Bushehr power plant.
The newspaper reported that Russia stated the strike endangered the security of its personnel at the facility.
This complaint was submitted by the Russian embassy in the occupied Palestinian territories to the Israeli regime.
It is believed the Israeli strike targeted the residence of a Russian expert stationed in the region.
The Bushehr nuclear power plant is a major energy facility in Iran, and Russia has a significant partnership with Iran in its peaceful nuclear energy program. The safety of this plant is of paramount importance to Russia.
