In a post on his X account on Tuesday night, Araqchi pointed to a media report suggesting a planned multimillion-dollar investment in a defense fund linked to the US defense secretary, arguing that such actions expose contradictions in Washington’s “America First” rhetoric amid the war involving Iran.
“Nothing says ‘America First’ like launching a war for a foreign regime while trying to profit as young soldiers are sent off to die,” Araqchi said.
“This war of choice is imposed on both Americans and Iranians,” he stated.
The Iranian foreign minister has also attached a picture showing a report from FINANCIAL TIMES, with the title “Pete Hegseth's broker looked to buy defence fund before Iran attack”.
According to the report, “Morgan Stanley wealth manager approached BlackRock about multimillion-dollar investment on behalf of US defence secretary”.
