Iranian Spokesman Hits Back at Trump for ‘Back to Stone Age’ Threat

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei responded to US President Donald Trump’s threats to bomb Iran back to the Stone Age, emphasizing Iran’s enduring cultural resilience and commitment to growth despite external intimidation.

In a message posted on his X account on Friday, Baqaei highlighted Iran’s historical role as a guardian of life and nature.

He wrote that Iranians have always been caretakers of “greenery” and “cypress.” Today, he continued, every Iranian, inspired by the deep-rooted wisdom of their culture and meaningful actions in their era, plants a tree.

Baqaei implied that, while some may dwell in illusions of immediate power or future plans and entertain the delusion of returning civilizations to the “Stone Age,” the Iranian people, whom he called “a nation of love,” continue to plant the saplings of greenery, whose branches will grow toward “tomorrow.”

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
