Spokesman Recounts How Iranian Army Repelled US Forces in Failed Isfahan Operation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Army said US forces suffered a major defeat during an attempted operation near Iran’s central city of Isfahan earlier this month, adding that Iranian servicemen forced them to retreat after targeting a military aircraft and thwarting the mission.

In comments on Thursday, Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia provided details about the US operation in Isfahan that ended in a major defeat for the enemy.

The spokesman paid tribute to those who were martyred during the operation to counter US infiltration in southern Isfahan, noting that four servicemen were martyred, including General Masoud Zare’, the instructor and commander of the Army Ground Forces Air Defense Faculty, who took part in the operation.

He added that an order had been issued by Commander of the Iranian Army Major General Amir Hatami, stressing that any ground aggression against the country must be met decisively and that not even a single aggressor should be allowed to survive.

The spokesperson further explained that on April 5, a US infiltration attempt took place, after which General Zare’ and a group of his comrades immediately arrived at the scene. He said they bravely targeted a US Lockheed C-130 Hercules using a shoulder-fired missile, bringing the American mission to a halt, causing it to fail, and forcing US forces to flee the area.

Akraminia emphasized that the Iranian Armed Forces remain on full alert, stating that the ceasefire does not significantly differ from wartime conditions and that their readiness has been maintained.
