In a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on Sunday, Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar outlined his country’s efforts to end the war and establish peace in the region.
He also emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to continue consultations in this regard.
For his part, Araqchi expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s good offices and mediation efforts in ceasefire negotiations aimed at ending the war, recalling Iran’s responsible approach in engaging with the diplomatic process to halt the conflict.
Referring to the bitter experiences of the past year and repeated US breaches of commitments—particularly the US military aggression against Iran in the midst of talks in May–June and February–March 2026—Araqchi described America’s recent actions, including its violation of the ceasefire, threats against Iranian ports, coastlines, and vessels, provocative rhetoric, unreasonable demands, and persistent contradictions, as clear indications of bad faith and a lack of seriousness in US diplomacy.
Araqchi further stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran will utilize all its capacities to safeguard Iran’s national interests and security.
The foreign ministers of Iran and Pakistan emphasized the continuation of consultations to advance their shared goal of protecting regional peace and security.
