Iran Stresses Strong Ties with Persian Gulf States during Ministerial Visit to Oman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman underscored the importance Tehran attaches to relations with the Persian Gulf countries as Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in Oman for his first regional visit following the recent US-Israeli war of aggression.

In a post on his X account on Saturday night, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said the visit to Muscat reflects Tehran’s continued commitment to fostering mutual trust and constructive cooperation with its southern neighbors.

“We are in Muscat for an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman—FM Araghchi’s first to the region following the recent US-Israeli aggression, which has impacted the broader region,” the spokesman said.

“Iran continues to place great importance on its relations with Persian Gulf states and remains committed to strengthening mutual trust and constructive cooperation. The Oman–Iran relationship stands as a testament to Iran’s genuine pursuance of respectful and mutually beneficial relations with its neighbors in the South,” he added.

Following high-profile meetings in Islamabad, Araqchi has traveled to Oman as part of a three-leg tour of the region that will later take him to Russia.
