During a Saturday meeting attended by the ministers of oil, energy, and industry, mine and trade, as well as the head of the Planning and Budget Organization and the head of the Energy Optimization and Strategic Management Organization, Pezeshkian was briefed on plans for energy consumption management, the use of public capacities in this field, and the implementation of electricity and gas consumption optimization schemes.

The president emphasized the necessity of launching a nationwide public mobilization aimed at reforming consumption patterns.

Referring to meetings held with guild representatives and executive bodies, Pezeshkian noted that each guild could assume responsibility for upgrading equipment and reducing energy consumption within its own field of activity, while also managing water use and other resources alongside lowering electricity consumption.

He further pointed to the cultural and social impacts of the initiative, saying the administration’s goal is not limited to carrying out a technical project, but rather to establish a public culture focused on reducing energy use and utilizing the country’s resources more efficiently.

Pezeshkian added that such a culture could expand into various sectors, including electricity, gas and fuel consumption, as well as the use of public transportation, helping society become more resilient against future challenges and pressures.
