In a statement released on Monday on the continued violation of the ceasefire by the Israeli regime and the United States, Iran’s Foreign Ministry recalled the April 8 ceasefire agreement under which the war imposed by the US and the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran was halted on all fronts, including Lebanon.
The ministry said that since the ceasefire took effect on April 8, the US has repeatedly committed clear violations of the truce, including continued actions against Iranian commercial shipping.
At the same time, it said, the Israeli regime has flagrantly violated the ceasefire by infringing upon Lebanon’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, causing the martyrdom and injury of several thousand Lebanese, displacing two million people, and destroying infrastructure and civilian homes across the country.
“The violation of the ceasefire on any one of the fronts constitutes a violation of it on all fronts,” the statement stressed.
The ministry further stated that despite Washington’s declared efforts in the early days after the ceasefire to force Israel to halt its attacks on Lebanon, the direct responsibility of the US for both violations of the ceasefire against Iran and the Israeli regime’s violations of the truce in Lebanon is evident.
It added that the US bears responsibility for the consequences and repercussions of the current situation.
The statement noted that Iran has repeatedly warned about the dangerous implications of ceasefire violations for regional peace and security and has called for an end to acts of aggression and crimes.
The Foreign Ministry emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran will defend its interests with full strength and by employing all available capacities, based on its inherent right to self-defense, wherever it deems necessary.
