In a statement released on Wednesday, the base said separatist terrorist groups, acting in coordination with and under the direction of the intelligence services of “global arrogance,” had intended to smuggle equipment into Iran for use in sabotage operations.
According to the statement, forces of the Intelligence Department of the Hamzeh Sayyid al-Shohada Base discovered and confiscated a large and significant shipment in a border village, including cameras, night-vision equipment, transmitting devices, walkie-talkies, espionage laptops and tablets, solar panels, RPG gunsights, and other military communications and optical equipment.
The military base stressed that it is continuously monitoring operational areas in northwestern Iran and keeping under surveillance the movements and transfers of personnel and equipment and “will nip the anti-security plots and actions of terrorists in the bud.”
