Israeli Regime Bombs Southern Beirut

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Zionist regime renewed air attacks on the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, on Sunday despite a ceasefire.

The Israeli regime’s military targeted the southern Beirut suburb of Dahiyeh on Sunday, claiming its target was Hezbollah “infrastructure”, according to a statement on Telegram.

Lebanon’s official National News Agency reported a strike hit Ghobeiry, while an AFP news agency correspondent reported hearing explosions from the southern suburbs.

According to Al Mayadeen', the airstrike, which targeted a 5-story building in Ghobeiry, injured several people. The Lebanese National News Agency later reported that the aggression killed one person and wounded four others, in a preliminary toll.

According to a joint statement by Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and war minister Israel Katz, the attack came in response to Hezbollah’s firing into occupied territories.

The strike came hours after the Lebanese resistance group fired several drones into northern occupied territories with no casualties reported, Al Jazeera reported.

The Israeli regime has consistently breached the truce agreed on in April with troops invading and occupying southern Lebanon while launching deadly air strikes on a daily basis.
