In a statement on Sunday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the terrorist attack carried out by the Zionist regime on June 14 against a residential area in Beirut’s southern suburbs (Dahiyeh), which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of Lebanese civilians.
The ministry described the attack as a blatant violation of Lebanon’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a serious breach of the April 8 ceasefire understanding between Iran and the United States.
Reiterating that the US bears direct responsibility for the crimes committed by the Zionist regime and its repeated violations of the ceasefire against Lebanon and Iran, the ministry said the Islamic Republic remains determined to take all necessary measures to exercise its inherent right to legitimate self-defense.
The statement further warned that responsibility for the dangerous consequences stemming from the Zionist regime’s acts of aggression and warmongering against regional peace and security would rest with both the US and the Zionist regime.
