Local officials said areas in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad and Khuzestan provinces came under enemy attack in the early hours of Sunday, July 12.
Fattah Mohammadi, a deputy governor of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, said an area on the outskirts of the provincial capital of Yasuj was hit by a projectile fired from an American-Zionist enemy drone at around 3:00 am local time.
He said the attack caused no casualties, adding that only limited damage was inflicted on a vehicle at the scene, with no extensive damage reported in the targeted area.
Mohammadi said the incident remains under investigation by the relevant authorities and that the situation in the area is calm and under the control of security and law enforcement forces.
Meanwhile, Valiollah Hayati, the security deputy governor of Khuzestan Province, said enemy projectiles struck the counties of Abadan, Mahshahr and Hendijan during attacks early Sunday.
He said assessments of possible casualties and damage are ongoing and that further details will be announced through official channels.
Hayati also dismissed social media reports claiming explosions in the cities of Ahvaz and Abadan, describing them as false rumors intended to create public concern. He added that security remains fully under control across Khuzestan Province in southwest of Iran and that security, military and law enforcement forces remain on full alert.
