In a statement released on Wednesday morning, the IRGC said the strike was carried out in response to renewed US military aggression against Iran. It said the operation targeted the US military facility in Al-Azraq as part of the sixth wave of Operation Nasr-2.
According to the statement, the operation destroyed hangars used by F-15, F-16 and F-35 fighter jets and also eliminated several US MQ-9 strategic drones stationed at the base.
Addressing the people of Jordan, the IRGC described the Arab country as a sacred land associated with the prophets and said it should not host occupiers and international criminals.
The statement urged Jordanians, who it said have witnessed US and Israeli actions against the Palestinian people more closely than any other nation, to work toward ending the presence of US forces on their soil and prevent Jordan from being used as a launching pad for attacks against Islamic countries and the Palestinian nation.
The IRGC also called on the Jordanian people to seize every opportunity to dismantle American institutions and expel US forces from the country.
