In a statement on Thursday morning, the IRGC public relations department said the new US command and control center in West Asia located in Al-Azraq Air Base, Jordan was targeted by Kheybar Shekan ballistic missiles.
It came in response to the US act of aggression against Iran using the air base.
“Last night, the US child-killing army, in a blatant aggression using air bases located in Jordan, targeted various parts of Iran, including an area near a children’s cancer hospital, so that 121 children with cancer were evacuated from there. This is not the first US crime using bases located in Jordan,” the statement said.
In response to this attack, it said, the IRGC’s Aerospace Force fighters, in the eighth wave of Operation Nasr 2 (Victory-2), targeted and destroyed the ramp of American fighter jets and the new American command and control center in West Asia in a very large base in Al-Azraq, Jordan, with Kheybar Shekan ballistic missiles.
The statement then addressed the Jordanian people, saying, “Brave people of Jordan! You have experienced the crimes of America and the Zionists more closely than any other nation. Do not allow the holy land of Jordan, which is the footstep of the prophets, to be used for these crimes against children. Strike at America's interests with all your might and cleanse your land of the filth of the American occupiers.”
The United States has perpetrated numerous violations against Iranian territory since April 7, when US President Donald Trump announced a unilateral ceasefire in the latest bout of wholesale American-Israeli aggression targeting the Islamic Republic.
The violations continued even after Washington and Tehran signed a Pakistan-mediated memorandum of understanding last month, whose first clause clearly mandates cessation of aggression on all fronts.
The US has also been trying to help vessels evade the maritime route designated by the Islamic Republic for safe and legal passage through the Strait of Hormuz, by seeking to escort trespassing vessels through an illegal passageway.
Iran’s Armed Forces have staged uncompromising retaliation in the face of each instance of violation, including those in support of illegal vessel movement in the Strait of Hormuz.
