Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi held a telephone conversation on Tuesday as part of Tehran's diplomatic consultations with regional and international partners.
During the talks, Araqchi briefed his Japanese counterpart on the latest developments in the diplomatic process aimed at establishing lasting peace and stability in the region.
The two top diplomats stressed the need for continued coordination and joint cooperation to remove the insecurity imposed on the Strait of Hormuz as a result of the US' acts of aggression.
Araqchi and Motegi also exchanged views on a number of consular issues of mutual interest.
