Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a regular press conference on Friday that no Chinese nationals were harmed in the strike, which reportedly hit a Chinese company building in northern Kuwait on Thursday.

Mao said China considers attacks on innocent civilians and non-military targets unacceptable and urged the Kuwaiti authorities to take effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in the country.

She added that the Chinese embassy in Kuwait immediately reminded Chinese nationals and organizations to heighten their security awareness and take additional precautions following the incident, China Daily reported.

"We call on relevant parties to exercise restraint and continue properly resolving differences through dialogue and consultation so as to restore peace and stability in the (Persian) Gulf region at an early date," Mao said.
