Hizam al-Assad, a senior member of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, criticized the UN Security Council’s performance regarding developments in Yemen and Gaza, saying the international body no longer possesses the necessary effectiveness and credibility.
He said the Security Council has taken no effective action over the past 12 years in response to the aggression and blockade against Yemen, and has also been practically powerless in the face of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and attacks by the US and the Zionist regime.
Al-Assad said the Security Council’s statements have little significant value or impact given the body’s record and performance.
The Ansarullah official also stressed the continuation of the path of resistance, stating, “What has been taken by force can only be regained by force.”
He added that Yemen is determined to reclaim its rights and defend its sovereignty.
