In separate messages on Tuesday, Pezeshkian congratulated Major General Ali Abdollahi on his appointment as Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mostafa Izadi as Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Major General Ahmad Vahidi as IRGC Commander-in-Chief, Rear Admiral Ali Ozmaei as IRGC Navy Commander, Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, and Hossein Taeb as head of the Basij Organization.
Pezeshkian described the Armed Forces as a pillar of Iran’s power, security and independence, emphasizing that coordination and synergy among the military forces are essential to protecting national security, territorial integrity and national interests.
He highlighted the commanders’ valuable military and operational experience as an important asset for strengthening Iran’s deterrence and defense capabilities, while stressing the importance of scientific and technological advancement, the participation of young people and experts, and the transfer of experience between generations.
The president expressed hope that the newly appointed commanders would successfully fulfill their responsibilities under the guidance of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei and contribute to strengthening Iran’s security, defense capabilities, national unity and service to the Iranian people.
