Iranian Diplomat Slams Trump’s Hormuz Claim as Sign of Mental Disorder

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi hit back at the US president’s repeated claims over the Strait of Hormuz, describing the symptoms of schizophrenia in reference to Trump’s distorted perception of reality.

Politics

Gharibabadi made the remarks in a post on his X account on Friday after the US president posted an image portraying the Strait of Hormuz as “NEW US TERRITORY.”

“Schizophrenia is a complex and acute type of psychotic disorder that manifests itself through disturbances in thinking and a distorted perception of reality. Its most common symptoms are also hallucinations and delirium. Psychologists recommend that such patients should be monitored and treated around the clock,” the Iranian deputy foreign minister wrote.

The message came after Trump posted a map depicting the Strait of Hormuz as US territory, without providing further context. His administration has maintained pressure on Iran following the US-Israeli war of aggression against the Islamic Republic, while Tehran has insisted that the waterway’s reopening depends on the fulfillment of its conditions.
