The mudslide struck a village in Ji'an city after days of torrential rain brought by Typhoon Saudel, the news agency reported, citing China's flood control and drought relief headquarters.
One person pulled out was found dead, while two others were rescued alive and in stable condition, it says.
Search and rescue operations are continuing, with teams relocating affected residents and taking measures to prevent secondary disasters.
