In a message to Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence, Pezeshkian said the two countries’ shared history, culture, language and civilizational heritage provide a strong foundation for deepening their “brotherly relations.”

Pezeshkian said Iran has placed the development of comprehensive cooperation with Tajikistan among its foreign policy priorities and reaffirmed Tehran’s resolve to further strengthen bilateral ties in pursuit of mutual interests, regional stability and security, and the advancement of their shared culture and literature.

He said Tajikistan’s independence was a manifestation of the Tajik people’s determination to achieve independence, dignity and prosperity, describing the achievement as a source of pride for those who cherish the two countries’ shared culture and civilization.
