Pezeshkian made the remarks on Sunday as he inaugurated online 246 projects of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, involving 35 trillion tomans in investment and creating 3,200 jobs.
Emphasizing the need to expand cultural and tourism interactions with neighboring countries, the president said the restrictions imposed by the US on Iran make the development of cultural, tourism and trade relations with neighboring states necessary. Such ties, he added, can put the country on the path of development and prosperity.
Pezeshkian also stressed the need to make maximum use of opportunities in tourism and infrastructure development, saying the sanctions imposed on Iran should be turned into an opportunity to expand regional relations and create more jobs.
“Our neighbors are an important capacity,” he said, adding that expanding comprehensive interactions with them can open a new path for serving the country.
Referring to his participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York and the diplomatic activities during the trip, Pezeshkian denounced US President Donald Trump’s baseless remarks threatening to destroy Iran.
The Iranian president also condemned the US president’s approach to human rights and international and humanitarian law, saying such principles appear meaningless to Trump when he threatens the Iranian people with annihilation.
Pezeshkian stressed that the Iranian people would emerge proudly from hardships and restrictions and continue contributing to production and the development of the country.
“America will dream of erasing, destroying and toppling Iran,” he said, stressing that the Iranian nation is working with “strength and firmness” and will overcome all obstacles.
