In a statement issued on Friday on the anniversary of the operation, the IRGC described True Promise 2 as a historic retaliatory strike that demonstrated Iran’s missile power and shattered the “hollow hegemony” of the Zionist regime.
The IRGC said October 1, 2024, marked the anniversary of the “historic and lasting epic” of Operation True Promise 2, when the IRGC Aerospace Force launched a major missile and drone attack against the occupied territories in response to the assassination of leaders and commanders of the Resistance Front, including Ismail Haniyeh, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan.
It said the operation saw Iran strike the heart of the occupied territories with waves of precision-guided missiles and drones, exposing to the world the “humiliating collapse of the hollow hegemony of the Zionist regime.”
“True Promise 2 was not only a harsh punishment in response to the enemy’s aggressions and crimes amid the deadly silence of international bodies, but also a clear message to the enemies of the great and dignified Iranian nation, particularly the evil and wolf-like Zionist regime,” the statement said.
The IRGC stressed that the operation delivered the message that “the era of cost-free threats has come to an end and every aggression will be followed by a painful and regret-inducing response.”
It also said the retaliatory operation displayed the capabilities of Iran’s missile forces to the Israeli enemy and its supporters, particularly the “criminal rulers of the White House.”
The IRGC paid tribute to the memory and sacrifices of the martyrs of the Resistance Front and Iran’s Islamic power, particularly to martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
It said the “astonishing power” demonstrated by the IRGC, alongside other Iranian Armed Forces, during the second and third US-Israeli imposed wars forced the US and the “evil enemy” to plead for a ceasefire.
At the conclusion of the statement, the IRGC assured the Iranian people and the nations supporting the Resistance Front in the region that it remains ready to respond to any threat or hostile act.
The IRGC said that, drawing on the intellectual and practical legacy of the great Imams and the martyrs of the Revolution and following the guidance of Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, it remains fully prepared and “with its finger on the trigger.”
It warned that the IRGC is ready to deliver a response that would be “decisive, immediate, painful, regret-inducing and more deadly than Operation True Promise 2” to any threat, aggression, hostile action or possible miscalculation by the “camp of the Great Satan” and its “humble regional foot soldiers.”
