Major General Mostafa Izadi made the remarks on Thursday evening during a visit to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Ground Force personnel stationed along the southern coasts and islands.

He said the IRGC Ground Force, Navy and Aerospace Force have a presence on the islands and in areas north of the Strait of Hormuz, adding that they are prepared to defend the strategic region.

Pointing to the combat capabilities of forces deployed in the area, General Izadi said their defensive capacities include operational plans, advanced tactics and techniques, and readiness in combat engineering, troop deployment and the positioning of equipment.

He also underscored coordination among Iran’s Armed Forces, stating that IRGC personnel, alongside the forces of the Army, are responsible for guarding and defending the Strait of Hormuz.

The commander also stated that the Strait of Hormuz is under the control of Iranian forces and expressed hope that combat readiness would be further strengthened on the islands and in the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
