"At the initiative of US President Donald Trump, most of the phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin was devoted to a settlement in Ukraine," Peskov said, TASS reported.
"During the conversation, the Russian president responded with understanding to some proposals from the US side regarding steps aimed at de-escalation," Peskov said.
The presidents spoke by phone on October 9.
