Iranian General Advises Regional States to Get Rid of US Security Umbrella

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior spokesman for the Iranian Armed Forces urged regional countries to abandon the ineffective US security umbrella, warning that continued reliance on Washington would impose heavy costs on them.

In a message released on Monday, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi said the US is sinking deeper into a self-created quagmire in West Asia and resorting to fuel smuggling to escape it.

He emphasized that “maritime piracy, theft and fuel smuggling” could never prevent Washington’s eventual defeat.

The US propaganda and repeated claims of control over the Strait of Hormuz could not change realities on the ground or shield Washington from the consequences of its failed strategies, the general stated.

Shekarchi also said Iran’s Armed Forces are better prepared and more capable than before and would firmly defend the country’s national interests and security, warning that they would “impose defeat on the enemies” through powerful action.

“The regional countries must learn from their experience and not throw themselves into a deadly pit by trusting the rotten rope of Trump and Netanyahu,” he said, adding that Iran would not allow the US and the Zionist regime to restore their desired regional order in West Asia.
