Outsiders Have No Place in Persian Gulf, IRGC Chief Says

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Ahmad Vahidi stressed that no extra-regional power has the right to threaten, establish a hegemonic presence, or interfere in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf.

In a message posted on his X account, Major General Vahidi emphasized that the security of the strategic waterway and the Persian Gulf must not be undermined by the presence or intervention of powers from outside the region.

"No extra-regional power has the right to threaten, maintain a hegemonic presence, or interfere in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf," he stated.

His remarks echoed a message issued by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei on August 30, in which the Leader urged Muslim nations and governments, particularly those in West Asia and along the Persian Gulf, to strengthen their unity against external threats.

The Leader questioned whether outside powers would dare to covet the region’s lands and wealth if its nations and governments stand united under the banner of Islam, calling on Muslim rulers to identify their true enemies, understand their plots, and confront them.
