During the meeting, Major General Vahidi highlighted the contributions of specialists and employees in Iran’s defense industry during the US-Israeli wars of aggression, emphasizing the strategic role of indigenous capabilities in meeting defense needs and supporting combatants.

Pointing to the need to strengthen industrial and technological activities under current circumstances, General Vahidi said reliance on domestic knowledge, the determination of specialists, and the continuity of the defense equipment production chain are key factors in maintaining the Armed Forces’ readiness and countering potential threats from adversaries.

He stressed the importance of making maximum use of domestic capabilities, saying that expanded cooperation between the operational and industrial sectors of the Armed Forces would help enhance combat capabilities, increase defense preparedness, and strengthen the country’s deterrence.

Referring to Akhlaqi’s experience and capabilities in advancing the defense industries, the IRGC commander emphasized the need to harness the country’s scientific and industrial potential, develop strategic technologies, strengthen production infrastructure, and draw on domestic specialists through sustained efforts aligned with the country’s current and future defense requirements.

Akhlaqi, for his part, said the Defense Ministry is prepared to prioritize effective support for the Armed Forces and ensure the sustainability of production chains alongside technological advancement, particularly in strategic weaponry.

The proposed minister of defense also highlighted the capabilities and readiness of the country’s defense industries to expand cooperation with corresponding sectors of the IRGC. He stressed the importance of joint efforts in designing, producing, supplying, and supporting defense equipment, as well as coordinating the industrial and operational sectors of the Armed Forces to pool existing capabilities, improve defense readiness, and meet the military’s needs.
