Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali met with Bakhtiyor Khakimov, the Russian president’s special representative for SCO affairs, at the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow on Thursday.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on ways to develop strategic cooperation and coordinate their positions within the framework of the organization.

Jalali pointed to the continued consultations between senior officials of the two countries this year, particularly meetings between their presidents on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Heads of State in Kyrgyzstan and the SCO Council of Heads of Government in Tajikistan.

He said the sustained high-level engagement reflects the dynamism, considerable momentum, and strategic depth of relations between Tehran and Moscow.

With Pakistan set to assume the rotating presidency of the SCO Council of Heads of State in 2027, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral and multilateral consultations within the organization’s framework.
