Pezeshkian Calls Iran-US Nuclear Talks A Step Forward

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the recent nuclear talks between Iran and the United States in Oman marked a step forward, reiterating that dialogue remains Tehran’s consistent strategy for resolving disputes through peaceful means.

In a post on his X account on Sunday, Pezeshkian pointed to the recent indirect nuclear talks in Muscat, saying, “The Iran-US talks that were held with the follow-up of friendly governments in the region were a step forward.”

“Dialogue has always been our strategy for peaceful settlement. Our logic on the nuclear issue is the explicit rights enshrined in the Non-Proliferation Treaty,” the president added.

He also underlined the Iranian nation’s stance toward external pressure, stating, “The Iranian nation has always responded to respect with respect, but does not tolerate the language of force.”

The most recent round of indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States were held on Friday in Muscat with Oman mediating the talks.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and US special envoy Steve Witkoff represented Tehran and Washington in the talks.
