Iranian Spokesman Responds to Trump's Threats with Quotation from Holy Quran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei condemned US President Donald Trump’s brutal threats against Iranians, invoking religious verses of Holy Quran to emphasize resilience against adversarial forces.

In response to Trump's aggressive rhetoric aimed at Iran, Baqaei shared a message on his social X account on Sunday night that underscores the spiritual conviction of the Iranian perspective.

Citing verses from Holy Quran, Baqaei highlighted the prevailing belief in divine support against external threats, framing the confrontation within a context of faith and divine justice.

“The Satan hath overpowered them, and so hath caused them to forget the remembrance of Allah. These are the band of the Satan. Lo! verily it is the Satan's band that shall be the losers. (19)

Verily those who oppose Allah and His Messenger shall be among the lowest. (20) Allah hath prescribed: 'I surely shall overcome, I and My Messenger'. Verily Allah is the Strong, the Almighty. (21) Surah 58 Al-Mujadila,” the Iranian spokesman said.

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of then Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
