“With the help of God Almighty, the fighters of the IRGC Aerospace Force, in response to the aggression of the American-Zionist enemy against one of the petrochemical industries, a few moments ago targeted similar industries in Haifa with missile strikes,” the IRGC said in a statement on Monday morning.
The statement further warned that the Zionist regime had “launched a dangerous game” by attacking civilian targets and energy infrastructure of Iran.
“We warn that the enemy has started a dangerous game by acting against civilian targets and striking oil industries, the scope of which will include all energy targets in the region, and its consequences for the global economy will be the responsibility of the main instigator of this field, the US,” the IRGC said.
The announcement comes amid continued escalation across the region, following Israeli attacks on Iranian industrial facilities in Khuzestan province.
Earlier on Monday, local officials said the Karoun Petrochemical Company in Mahshahr came under an Israeli aerial attack, with projectiles striking parts of the facility and causing damage.
According to the Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization, emergency evacuation orders were issued for all daytime staff following a decision by civil defense and crisis management authorities, while operational personnel were instructed to continue work.
A second statement from the zone’s public relations office said that around 7:30 am on Monday, two projectiles hit the Karoun Petrochemical Company following an attack by the American-Zionist enemy. It added that no casualties were reported and that the extent of damage remained under assessment.
The developments come amid broader regional escalation after Iran launched a series of missile strikes against Israeli military targets in response to attacks on Beirut’s southern suburbs and repeated violations of the April 8 ceasefire agreement.
Late Sunday, the IRGC said it had struck the Ramat David airbase with ballistic missiles, calling it the origin of Israeli attacks on Lebanon. On Monday morning, it launched ‘Operation Nasr (Victory)’ targeting the Tel Nof and Nevatim airbases in the occupied territories in response to Israeli strikes on Iranian radar sites.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has described the strikes as legitimate self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, stressing that Tehran’s actions followed repeated Israeli ceasefire violations and ongoing aggression against Lebanon, while warning of a broader response to any further attacks on Iranian interests or Lebanon.
