Muslim Unity Needed to End Israel’s Impunity: Araqchi

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stressed the need to strengthen Islamic unity and solidarity to end the Zionist regime’s impunity, describing the Palestinian issue as the most important concern facing the Muslim world and humanity.

Araqchi made the remarks during a meeting with Sofiane Chaib, Algeria’s Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, held in Baghdad on Saturday on the sidelines of the annual session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The two officials exchanged views on bilateral relations between Iran and Algeria and issues concerning the Muslim world, particularly Palestine and the Israeli regime’s expansionism.

Referring to the continued occupation and genocide by the Israeli regime in the occupied Palestinian territories, Araqchi emphasized that the Palestinian issue remains the foremost concern of the Muslim world and humanity as a whole.

He also called for greater Islamic unity and solidarity to bring an end to the Zionist regime’s impunity.

The Iranian foreign minister also briefed the Algerian official on developments in West Asia and the US’ interventionist and destabilizing actions in the Persian Gulf region.
