US Must Take Steps to Build Trust before Talks: Iran’s SNSC Chief

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) underlined the need for the United States to take steps to build trust before any talks.

In a short message on his official account on X on Tuesday, Major General Mohsen Rezaei wrote that there will be no negotiations with the US until Washington takes steps to build trust.

Later in the day, during a meeting with Pakistan’s visiting Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir in Tehran, Major General Rezaei said the Iranian people and officials were united in the view that no negotiations would take place in the absence of trust-building measures on the part of Washington.

He further emphasized that “not a single gram of enriched uranium will be removed from Iran,” categorically ruling out a demand that has been aired repeatedly by various American officials.

“All enriched nuclear material will remain in Iran, and not a single particle will leave the country,” he stated.

“This material is a great asset and national wealth for the Iranian people to use domestically,” the senior official went on to say.
