Lebanese Hezbollah Denounces Shejaiya Massacre

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Lebanese Hezbollah Islamic Resistance Movement condemned the criminal massacre committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza’s Shejaiya neighborhood, and lashed out at Arab countries and international community for their silence.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Hezbollah denounced the Israeli racism represented by the “hideous massacre committed by the Zionist occupying regime in Shejaiya neighborhood, north of the Gaza Strip.”

The resistance party also slammed the occupation forces for preventing medical personnel from entering the neighborhood to save the wounded and evacuate the bodies of the victims, saying that such restrictions “increases the horror of the massacre, and reveals the amount of hatred harbored in the hearts of those criminal Zionists.”

“This horrific massacre ... is a continuation for the Zionists’ racist and criminal approach which has been committing the crimes of genocide,” the statement added.

It also condemned the silence of international and Arab regimes, saying that the absence of a clear response implied dangerous justification for the crimes committed by the Zionist entity.

Israel has launched a ground invasion in the Gaza Strip since Thursday after 10 days of bombardment of the enclave from the air and sea.

About 500 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 3200 other have been wounded in the 14-day Israeli assault on the densely-populated enclave of 1.8 million Palestinians.

About 75 percent of the deaths in Gaza have been civilians, according to UN estimates.
