Speaking to reporters, Ali Asghar Ahmadi condemned Saudi Arabia for imposing a severe blockade on Yemen and preventing the delivery of humanitarian aid to victims in the war-hit Arab country.
Before the aggression against Yemen, Iran's Red Crescent Society had delivered four cargos of relief and food supplies to the victims of the country's internal conflicts, but since the Saudi attacks started in late March, the situation has changed, he said.
"The Saudis' move to force the Iranian airplane carrying humanitarian aid (to Yemen) to return was completely inhumane," Ahmadi underlined.
Fighter jets of Saudi Arabian-led coalition bombed the runway of Sana'a airport on Tuesday afternoon to prevent an Iranian plane from landing in the Yemeni capital.
Following the attack, the Iranian foreign ministry summoned Saudi Arabia's charge d’affaires to protest at the move.
This was the second time in just a few days that Iran's foreign ministry summoned the Saudi diplomat for the same reason.
The protest came as last week, another Iranian plane carrying humanitarian goods for the war-torn people of Yemen was forced to return to Tehran after Saudi Arabia's fighter jets refused the cargo plane landing in Yemen.
