Iranian, Qatari FMs Discuss Int’l Issues

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Qatar talked about various issues in a telephone conversations, including the regional and international developments.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held a telephone conversation on Wednesday.

The senior Qatari diplomat hailed the successful visit by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Doha, describing the meeting between the Iranian president and Qatar’s emir as excellent and a key step towards development of bilateral ties.

For his part, Amirabdollahian praised the warm welcome from the Qatari emir as the host during the Iranian president’s recent visit.

The two foreign ministers also discussed a range of issues of mutual interest in the regional and international fields.

During his visit to Doha in February, Iranian President Raisi said Iran and Qatar were determined to take serious steps to strengthen their relations, adding that his trip to Doha opened a new chapter in the ties.
