Iran’s Export of Steel in 4 Months Shows 140% Growth

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s export of steel products in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (began on March 21) registered a 140 and a 36 percent growth in weight and value respectively compared to the same period of last year.

Economy

The Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) announced this, noting that more than 10,923,000 tons of different types of steel products, valued at more than $2.693 billion, were exported overseas from March 21 to July 22, 2023.

Iran had exported about 4,557,000 tons of steel products, valued at $1.877 billion, from March 21 to July 22, 2022.

China was Iran’s first export target market in this period. The Asian country imported about 6.711 million tons of steel products, valued at about $1 billion, from Iran between March and July of the current year.

Iraq imported about 1.475 million tons of steel products, valued at $496.930, from Iran in this period, IMIDRO added.
