In an interview with Fox News, the Iranian foreign minister said diplomacy is always preferred to war, although Iran has no positive experience of interaction with Washington.
It is the US that has always evaded diplomacy and opted for war, Araqchi stated, adding that Iran has always proved that it is prepared for negotiations and diplomacy.
Asked about Iran’s message for the US president, the top Iranian diplomat advised Donald Trump to avoid repeating the mistake he had made in June 2025.
Araqchi reminded the US that if it tests the same failed experience of military action against Iran, it will reap the same results again.
He stressed that the US could not ruin the technology and determination of Iran, though it bombed Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities and centrifuges machines.
Waning against the dire consequences of escalation of tensions for all parties, Araqchi said the terrorist activities carried out in Iran during the recent riots were the continuation of the 12-day war that the US and the Zionist regime launched against Iran in 2025.
In June 2025, the Zionist regime launched an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran, targeting military, nuclear, and residential areas for 12 consecutive days. The United States later escalated the conflict by striking three of Iran’s nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan on June 22.
Iran’s Armed Forces delivered an immediate and forceful response. The IRGC Aerospace Force carried out 22 waves of retaliatory missile strikes under Operation True Promise III, inflicting significant damage and heavy losses on cities across the occupied territories.
In retaliation for the US attacks, Iranian forces also targeted al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar —the largest American military installation in West Asia— with a barrage of missiles.
The confrontation came to an end on June 24, when a ceasefire was enforced.
