In a statement on Tuesday, Baqaei offered condolences over the martyrdom of Ali Noureddine to his family and to Lebanon’s media community.
The Iranian spokesman described the Israeli action as a heinous and terrorist crime and a flagrant violation of fundamental principles of international law that prohibit any form of aggression against media professionals.
He stressed the responsibility of the international community, the United Nations, and international legal and criminal bodies to address the crimes committed by the Israeli regime and to hold it accountable.
Referring to the continued violations by the Zionist regime of the November 2024 ceasefire understanding and its ongoing assaults against Lebanon’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, Baqaei underlined the collective responsibility of regional countries and the international community to confront Israel’s lawlessness and warmongering.
Al-Manar TV’s former anchor Sheikh Ali Noureddine was the target of an Israeli drone attack on his car in Lebanon’s southern city of Tyre on Monday.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said the Israeli drone attack left one martyr and injured two others.
