Iran’s Larijani Denies Sending Letter to US

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani dismissed claims that Tehran has sent any letter to the United States, saying no message has been delivered to the American side, as he concluded his visit to Qatar.

Following the conclusion of his negotiations and meetings in Qatar, Larijani departed Doha for Iran on Wednesday evening.

Speaking to reporters at the end of his trip to Doha, Larijani responded to a question about whether he has conveyed any message to the American side. He said that Iran has not had any letter for the American side.

He explained that Omani officials wrote down certain points on behalf of the Americans and handed them over to the Iranian side for follow-up and review in Tehran.

Regarding whether the time for the next round of negotiations has been determined, Larijani said that it has not yet been specified. He noted that both sides are willing for the negotiations to continue, but consultations need to be held in the respective capitals to ensure the talks would yield results, expressing hope that the process would move forward.

During his stay in Doha, the SNSC secretary held talks with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, as well as with Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, and a number of Hamas leaders.

According to a statement by Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, the Qatari foreign minister reviewed efforts to reduce tensions in the region with the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
